How do I create student accounts?
You have a couple of options...

a) Self-Registration
The quickest way to get your students set up on Dynamic Learning is to send them a link so they can self-register. To use this option, you will need to allow ‘Self-Registration’ for your centre in User Manager Preferences. If you are not the User Manager for your centre, they will be listed under your ‘My Account’ drop down menu.

Watch ‘How to: Allow Students to Self-Register’ to find out how to set this up for your centre.

b) Manual Set Up
If you are a Teacher Admin user, you could also add students individually or upload multiple student users with a CSV spreadsheet.
Click on ‘Manage’ in the top right hand side of your screen to go to the administration pages.
Choose ‘Manage Users’ from the popup window. The ‘Manage Student’ tab will be pre-selected. You will be able to view titles and users who have access to them.

To create an individual account
Click on the ‘Add Student’ button
Enter details of the student user and click ‘Save’

To import multiple accounts
To upload multiple students, you only need to complete the following mandatory fields in the CSV template

A (Action), C (User Type), D (User Name), E (Password), G (First Name), I (Last Name)

Please leave everything else blank

• Enter A (for ‘add’) or E (for 'edit')

• Enter S (for ‘student’) in column C

• Enter a username for each student in column D - You may prefer to copy/paste login credentials from your school management system, or create new ID’s for your students. The username must be at least six characters long and not contain any special characters

• Enter a password for each student in column E - We recommend you keep this as simple as possible to make it easy to remember

• Enter the first name and last name for each student in columns G and I respectively
If you would like to group your students into teaching groups at the same time as creating accounts, enter the name of the group in column N Row 1, followed by 'Yes' against each user row to be added to that group

Please note: The DOB and Sex columns are not mandatory, however this information can be helpful with identifying students with the same first name and last name in your centre. Any student data imported is not stored, shared or used by Hodder Education in any form.

Once you have completed, click ‘Import CSV’, browse your computer to find your file and click ‘Upload your CSV’.

CD-ROM Support

Before our online subscription service Dynamic Learning was available, we provided digital resources to accompany our textbooks via CD-ROM. If you're still using the CD-ROMs and are having problems, check out the relevant section below.

Student (Home) Edition or Home Standalone Edition CD-ROMs
These CD-ROMs were for use by your students at home, and would have been found inside the back cover of older student textbooks.

I'm having problems accessing my CD-ROM

Due to the age of these CD-ROMs, some of them have problems accessing the resources contained in them properly. If this is the case for your CD-ROM, please follow the instructions below:

Option 1: Download the full CD-ROM

Many CD-ROMs are available to fully download from our CD-ROM download page

Downloading from here will give you all the resources from the CD-ROM, plus the menu interface that you will have used to navigate the CD-ROM.

Option 2: Access the individual files from the CD-ROM on the old Dynamic Learning student site

If your full CD–ROM isn’t available to download from the Hodder Education website, you may find that you can access the individual files from the CD from our old Dynamic Learning Student website. You’ll need a code to access this – please contact our support team to access your code.

What type of licence is available for the Student Edition CD-ROM?

The Student (Home) Edition  CD-ROM and Home Standalone Edition CD-ROMs are licenced for home use by individual students, and not for networking at school.

I get a Page not found error when I try to open an activity

Please visit our CD-ROM downloads page to see if there is Home Standalone version of your title.

Where can I find answers to the questions in the Textbook?

Answers to the questions can only be accessed by teachers using our online subscription service Dynamic Learning (or one of the old Network Edition CD-ROMs).  They are password protected on the Network Edition CD-ROM.

Where can I find Chapters 16 – 24 on my Practical Cookery CD-ROM?

They are linked as PDFs on Page 1

Where are the audio exercises that accompany my French/German/Spanish book?

The audio exercises are available in our online subscription service Dynamic Learning (or in the old Network Editions CD-ROMs). They can also be purchased separately to accompany the Student Editions.
Network Edition
Network Edition CD-ROMs were discontinued with the launch of our online subscription service Dynamic Learning in 2010. If you would like to access network edition resources online, you will need to subscribe to Dynamic Learning.

If you are still using the CD-ROM products, please ensure you have downloaded the latest version of the programme.

Home Standalone Edition
If you are having difficulty accessing resources on your Home or Student Edition CD-ROMs, some of the content is available to download here
