  • An analysis of the 2017 papers and SAMs to identify what kind of questions are likely in the exam
  • AO1, AO2 and AO3 – what do students need to focus on for these skills?
  • Revising the right amount of material – preparing revision cards for essays and other questions
  • Where do students go wrong?
11.45am Morning coffee
11.30am Improving performance on Research Methods and the exam
  • Ways to revise Research Methods – which is 25% of the marks
  • Considering some of the tricky topics
  • ‘Stepping up’ – preparing students for A-level
1.00pm Lunch
1.30pm Likely marking standards
  • Looking at feedback from the AS exams
  • Common pitfalls for different topic areas
  • Marking some exemplar answers
2.30pm Afternoon tea
2.45pm The psychology of revision
  • Psychological research about what works
  • Myths of revision – what doesn’t work
  • Stages of revision
  • Sharing ideas for revision
3.45pm Review and reflect
