About the Author(s): Caroline Morris has a background as a nurse, a Care Manager, and as a teacher and lecturer delivering in Health and Social Care. Caroline has been an external verifier for several major awarding bodies and has been involved in writing materials and specifications for publishers and awarding bodies. She also undertakes inspections on behalf of BIIAB, OCR, EDI, OU and BAC. Val Michie is a Consultant in Education and Training for the Health and Care Sector, in which capacity she works with a wide range of training providers within the private, statutory and trades union sectors. Val has also worked in medical research and as a lecturer in FE, teaching health sciences, key skills and Health and Social Care. Her more recent role as a technical author has involved her in writing underpinning knowledge and assessment activities for a number of qualifications, including NVQs, Technical Certificates and BTECs in Health and Social Care. Val is currently an External Verifier for a major awarding body.
