Summary:
The Mathematics Assessment for Learning and Teaching (MaLT) series offers a ground-breaking approach to standardised Mathematics assessment for ages 5-14 - now matched to the strands and teaching objectives in the Frameworks.
Available in both pencil-and-paper and interactive computer-adaptive formats, these nationally standardised group tests yield formative information which will directly support individual and whole-class teaching, as well as reliable summative assessments for screening, monitoring and progress tracking.
MaLT assesses all areas of mathematics from age 5 to 14, providing:
standardised scores, percentiles and National Curriculum levels, plus
maths ages (MaLT 5-11)
year-on-year progress assessment
attainment target performance profiles
individualised formative and diagnostic feedback to pupils
whole-class profiles identifying weaknesses, common misconceptions and errors.
At Key Stage One, the MaLT 5-7 tests are presented orally: each test takes about 45 minutes to administer, is quick to score and easy to interpret.
Purpose-written to highlight errors and misunderstandings which are indicative of key learning needs, and now matched to the strands and teaching objectives in the Frameworks, MaLT can be used at any time during the school year. For every child, a personalised diagnostic report - generated for the paper-and-pencil tests via the optional Scorer/Profiler CD-ROM - is available. The MaLT Scorer/Profiler CD-ROM (version 2) fully automates age and score conversions and group performance analyses, with a new 'overview' facility to track individual pupil progress across all ten tests, from 5 to 14.
This Specimen Set includes copies of the MaLT 5, MaLT 6 and MaLT 7 tests, plus the Stage One Manual (it does not include the Scorer/Profiler).
