Summary: On Course German is aimed at non language specialists in Higher Education who wish to continue the language they studied at school or to take up a new one. It combines a lively approach with a more academic outlook, and seeks to implement some of the latest findings in pedagogical research. The books will be specifically created with the needs of IWLP students in mind, and the contents will be designed in an accessible and colourful style. It allows for a highly structured approach, to fit in to a 24 week academic year. Each unit consisting of revision material, vocabulary, grammar boxes. The course will introduce language-learning and transferable skills, such as dictionary work, reading strategies, word composition and giving mini-presentations.

About the Author(s): Author: Felicitas Starr Egger is the German Tutor at the Language Teaching Centre, UMIST Series editors: Sandra Truscott is Director of the Languagewise programme and Programme Head at the Centre for Continuing Education at the University of Manchester. She has also published extensively and is the author of Breakthrough Spanish. John Morley teaches English for Academic Purposes at the University of Manchester and co-ordinates the Tandem Learning programme for British and European language learners.
