Reviews:
The level of writing is nicely calculated. This is serious writing for serious pupils, with no hint of dumbing down but with no really difficult words and with all necessary concepts and background details explained...A lot of trouble has been taken to give genuinely helpful guides to the student on how to approach the chapters and how to take notes...Any one who conscientiously followed the advised method would certainly end up able to get good marks on the subject...I have been sceptical before about attempts to summarise history in diagrams, but I am ready to be converted by some of the ones under review; I could imagine them being the basis for useful revision lessons...The Henry VIII book is also written by one of the editors of the series...and a fine textbook it is...I reckon all reasonably able pupils should cope with it, and the well-motivated should get real value...Definitely a recommended text for any final-year pupils who was studying the reign of Henry VIII in depth.
