Louis Solomon, who was Alan Apley's co-author on the previous two editions, has been joined by two new co-authors to develop and extend this foundation and produce a thoroughly modern textbook of orthopaedic surgery.

The book has been brought completely up-to-date and extended to cover current orthopaedic practice. Many new illustrations have been added and the new easy-to-read page layout now features colour throughout. As in previous editions, the book is divided into three sections: General Orthopaedics, Regional Orthopaedics, and Fractures and Joint Injuries.
