Meet Daniel Hugill

Daniel Hugill blogged for the Hodder RE and Philosophy Nest last year, and in his introductory biography, he mentioned beekeeping, tending his allotment and keeping pet chickens. With my Geography editor hat on, I felt that there was a blog post waiting to be written. I was delighted when Daniel said he would join our Expert Blog.

Daniel currently works at the Coopers' Company and Coborn School in London as Teacher of RE and Teaching Development Coordinator.

He sits on the Executive of the National Association of Teachers of RE (NATRE) and is a mentor for the South East region on the REsilience Project working to build teachers' confidence in dealing with controversial issues in RE. He is a Lead Practitioner in RE for the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust and is the Local Authority Advisor to the London Borough of Havering SACRE.

Outside of school, he enjoys beekeeping (in spring/summer, he spends most of his free time rescuing bee swarms from across London), he also tries to tend to his allotment and he keeps pet chickens.

His beekeeping blog is Telling the bees and he tweets @DanielHugill
