How the scheme works

The Hodder Reading Project is a five-step scheme which takes pupils from initial evaluation and target setting through to new skill application and consolidation using the Pupil’s Book, Teacher’s Resource and a set of real Reading Books. At Level 5-6 the Hodder Reading Project consists of a Teacher's Resource and a set of 6 Readers.

Although the scheme can be used flexibly, this is how we’d suggest it is used:

Step 1

Informal reading tests are used to evaluate pupils’ reading needs.
