Connecting Science is a flexible, interactive solution to the new Key Stage 3 Science Programme of Study. At the core of the course is the brand-new teaching and learning platform from Hodder Education, Dynamic Learning.
Connecting Science uses an enquiry-led approach to build pupils' scientific thinking skills, so that they can challenge opinions, develop arguments and explanations, and apply these skills to new topics as they progress through the Key Stage and beyond.
The unique structure of 'Core' lessons with further 'Options' enables you to manipulate content finding your own route through the new curriculum. Whilst a comprehensive Scheme of Work is provided for full support and guidance, you can also search the Dynamic Learning resources across the entire Key Stage and customise lesson plans for your own Scheme of Work using the unique Lesson Builder technology. This gives you the flexibility to create lessons that really meet the needs of the pupils you teach.
For each year of Key Stage 3, the course comprises:
- A Dynamic Learning Network CD-ROM containing a huge range of up-to-date digital resources, such as interactive starter activities, PowerPoint® presentations, audio files, video clips, editable worksheets, images and integration of Upd8 Topicals.
- A Teacher's Resource Book that presents 'Core'lessons and a choice of 'Options' for each topic and levelled outcomes to enable to you to check pupils' understanding.
- A Pupil’s Guide that covers the entire Key Stage and arms pupils with the facts they need to succeed.
There will shortly be a teacher's Guide available for teaching Key Stage 3 in 2 years.
