It is not always easy to grasp what the conceptual leap is that needs to be made to support progression from level 5 to 6: these portraits encapsulate this precicely. This enables teachers to model more precisely the key skills which will ensure progression to level 6, skills  which are not always comfortable to model, even for the most confident reader.
